What these terms cover

They cover this website. They do not govern the software: TraceMote is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3, and your rights and obligations in the software come from that licence alone. Where anything here appears to conflict with the AGPL as it applies to the software, the AGPL wins.

The software

  • It is provided without warranty, as the AGPL states in its own terms. You run it on your own infrastructure and you are responsible for that deployment — its configuration, its exposure, its backups and its users.
  • You must comply with the licence when you distribute it. If you modify TraceMote and hand it to other people, or offer it to them over a network, the AGPL’s source-availability obligations apply to you as they apply to us. Our open-source page describes how we meet them.
  • Use it lawfully. Remote-access software used to reach machines you are not authorised to reach is unlawful in most places, and nothing here should be read as encouragement to do so.

This website

  • The content is provided as-is and may change. We try hard to keep the technical claims accurate and correct them when they are not, but the authoritative description of the software is its source and the documentation shipped with it.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the site, or use it to distribute anything harmful.
  • The TraceMote name, logo and the design of these pages belong to TraceMote. The AGPL covers the software, not the branding — if you fork the project, please ship it under your own name.

Trademarks and affiliation

RustDesk is the work and the name of the RustDesk project. TraceMote is an independent fork and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by that project. References to it here are descriptive.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, TraceMote is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or the software. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Any paid arrangement is governed by its own agreement, which takes precedence over this page for what it covers.
